I have never treated a patient with an Eating Disorder who did not have a co-occurring psychiatric diagnosis such as anxiety or depression. Like all medications, psychotropic medications have side effects and one must always weigh the risk/benefit ratio of any medication. This presentation will review the major psychiatric diagnoses and routine medications prescribed by psychiatric providers. I will highlight medications that are considered contraindicated in the Eating Disorder population.
