Michelle Deal is a clinical social worker in private practice and a clinical solutions provider for The Ranch at Dove Tree, a residential treatment facility for substance abuse and eating disorders. In her practice, Michelle works with adolescents and adults, both individually and in groups, and specializes in eating disorders, mood disorders, families, and parenting skills. She is also trained in EMDR. Michelle received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. After receiving her master’s, Michelle worked for several years in the department of psychiatry at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, where she gained invaluable experience working with a wide spectrum of mental health diagnoses. Serving as a member of the eating disorder treatment team during her tenure at the hospital solidified Michelle’s interest in working with the eating disordered population outside of the hospital setting. In 2009, Michelle started a support group for the friends and family of those with eating disorders, which remains active and meets bi-monthly. Michelle resides in Dallas with her husband, three year old daughter, and cat.
