We hope this message finds you, your loved ones, and your clients safe and well. These past several days have no doubt brought up a whirlwind of emotions. The rapid progression of COVID-19 and its recent upgrade to pandemic has required everyone in our community to react and respond to new information every day. In an effort to protect the safety and well-being of everyone, we are canceling the HEDS business meeting and presentation scheduled for April 7th. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update regarding our next HEDS meeting.

Jana Rosenbaum, via AGPA (American Group Psychotherapy Association), has provided the following links that are very informative:

Link to the World Health Organization regarding the pandemic. Accurate, reliable information is critically important to manage apprehension and anxiety – both our own and our clients, as well as our communities more broadly: https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses

Great article on the psychological effects of quarantines, from the Lancet: thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)30460-8/fulltext .

This website offers tons of helpful information for navigating the Covid19 pandemic in our practices, including templates, scripts, and FAQs about telehealth and insurance billing as well: https://www.zynnyme.com/blog/2020/3/12/covid-19-plan-for-therapists-questions-answers-and- guidelines

We look forward to being reunited and resuming our activities as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will continue to be an active resource for those impacted by eating disorders. Be well!

    Sincerely,

    Mara Gittess, President of HEDS
