Hi HEDS Member! We are starting to plan for the 2024 Community Conference and need your help!
We are SO excited for the Houston Eating Disorders Specialist Community Conference that will take place in-person in February 2024. The theme is More Than an Eating Disorder: Finding Identity Outside of Recovery and is for folks who have recovered/are recovering from an eating disorder as well as support members. Our intention is to make the conference as interactive and engaging as we can through a workshop and panel discussion.
We are seeking a dynamic community speaker who can provide tangible ways for both those struggling in recovery and their support system to find life and meaning outside of the eating disorder. This workshop-style presentation will include a 30 minute educational presentation, 30 minutes of a workshop split into groups, and a 15 minute Q&A.
In addition, we are looking for recommendations for panelists that have recovered from an eating disorder and have found identity outside of their recovery, including but not limited to recovered athletes, folks who have flourished in their careers post-recovery, a parent, etc.
