New Group! Our Bodies: Ourselves
My colleague Grace Lynch, LMSW, is seeking participants for a group designed for women and genderqueer individuals aged 25-40 to explore the complex, personal, and shared experiences we have with our bodies. While eating disorders are certainly a welcome topic within the group, a client currently exhibiting severe symptoms may not be the best fit. Together the group will discuss topics such as:
Societal beauty standards
Our relationship with food
Sex and intimacy
Chronic illness and physical pain
Aging and body changes
Motherhood and reproductive experiences
Gender identity and expression
Body-focused repetitive behaviors
Weight and body image
How we’re perceived and treated in the worldThis group will offer a safe, affirming space to share unique experiences, deepen self-awareness, and connect with others in a cost effective supplement to individual therapy.
This group will meet in person, in Rice Village on Thursday evenings. Cost is $40. Individuals will be screened for appropriateness before joining the group. Limited spots available. Start date pending group member availability.
Facilitated by Grace Lynch, LMSW under supervision from Yvonne Champion, LCSW-S, CGP.
If you know of clients who may be a good fit, please consider referring them to this group. They are welcome to reach out at grace@championcounseling.com or 817.601.7268 to schedule a time to talk.
