Dear Michelle: I don’t know of group therapy, but I did want to let you know that a member of AED is conducting research on this, in case your patient is interested.
“The Advocacy and Communications Committee is currently working on a document to outline minimum standards of care for eating disorders in individuals who are disabled and/or neurodivergent. We are seeking 5 volunteers with lived experience to provide their feedback on the draft to increase the representativeness of the guidelines. We recognize that it is a valuable and demanding act of labor to provide this feedback and regret that we are not able to offer any compensation beyond our sincere gratitude. If you would be willing to provide this feedback, please contact Natalie Szykowny at ngs20@stanford.edu. The first 5 volunteers to contact will be chosen and the draft guidelines will be provided by email with a request for feedback to be returned via email.”
